Welcome to my Secondary Librarian page, which contains lessons and projects I have created for students in Grades 6-8.
BIRTHDAY BUNNY LESSON
Authors Jon Scieszka and Mac Barnett wrote a story called Battle Bunny about a boy who receives a book Birthday Bunny for his birthday that he doesn't like, so he changes the text and illustrations to something he finds more interesting. I downloaded a PDF version of Birthday Bunny that is available on the authors' website and had Grade 6 students work in pairs to alter their own copies.
MYP BOOKFACE COMPETITION
During The British International School of New York's Book Week in spring 2014, MYP students participated in the first annual Library Book Face Competition. They worked in groups to seamlessly bring together book cover images and their bodies.
HARRY POTTER NIGHT EVENT
In the Spring of 2019, an enthusiastic group of Munich International School students in grades 3-8 participated in Harry Potter Night. They engaged in a scavenger hunt, made bookmarks, ate themed treats, and competed in a House Cup trivia event.
PHOTOSHOP CLUB
At Korea International School - Jeju Campus, I lead a Photoshop lunch club for Middle School students, where they learned a variety of different Photoshop techniques.
